From the valley to the deserts, the Ifao excavations cover a span from prehistory
to the modern era. e institute is active in the six main zones, which make up
Egypt : the Delta, the Memphis area, the Red Sea coast, the Middle-Egypt, the
Upper-Egypt and the deserts. e lecture intends to give an overview of the 24
ongoing excavations, focusing on the main themes and the new discoveries.
