The first Qahwa and Kalam talk for Spring 2016 will be held on Monday, March 7 from 1 to 2 pm in Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Hall, Room PO71.
Adam Talib, assistant professor in the Department of Arab and Islamic Civilizations, will put to rest some of the most common myths about Arabic poetry. Were the Muʿallaqāt actually hung? Were all Arabic panegyrists peddlers? Is Arabic poetry dead? Come get the answers to these long-standing questions and more.
