Instrumental Music Competition

Culture Resource (Al Mawred Al Thaqafy) is pleased to announce the call for applications for the first edition of the instrumental musical competition Sama3na.

Sama3na seeks to promote instrumental music by creating a larger fan-base for it and by supporting emerging instrumental musicians and discovering and supporting new talents.
Sama3na opens an interactive discussion on instrumental music among social media users, who will also participate in the competition by voting for their favorite entries and hence choose the winning composition.

Eligibility:
- The Competition is open to all Arab composers
- Submissions are accepted in different musical genres.
- Applicants must complete and submit Sam3na application form. To download the application please click Here
- Applicants have to submit 3 original compositions. Submissions must not have been released in an album or submitted in any other competition.

Sama3na team will upload the musical composition on a platform that supports voting and commenting. The Voting Period will run from August 15 to September 15. Based on scores from audience voting results, winning entries will be tabulated and results posted by September 2013. The selected winner will be premiered at a mini festival of four concerts for instrumental music in El Genaina Theater, along with 3 of Sama3na competition judges and their bands. The opening bands for the concerts will be the winners of the competition.

Sam3na Awards :
$1500 for the winner
$1,000 for 1st runner up
$500 for 2nd runner up

Applications deadline: August 15, 2013. Any applications received after this date will not be considered.
