Established in 2006 in Cairo, HaRaKa is a project that aims at supporting, developing and researching dance and performance in Egypt and the Arabic Speaking Region. It is a non-governmental structure that works from Cairo on local, regional and international partnerships, and operates within research, production and dissemination.
HaRaKa invests in an open understanding of contemporary dance and body-based artistic projects and processes, from pluri-focal and complex standpoints, informed by the history of art in the Arabic speaking region in relation to its neighbouring geo-realities.
