The premiere of LAYLA, a collaborative cinematic project by four independent Egyptian filmmakers, will be held at Townhouse Rawabet on Sunday 13 September, at 8pm, with an encore screening subtitled in Englishat 9pm .
LAYLA revolves around the on-going attempts by a group of journalists to find Layla Kamel, an Egyptian-Italian young woman who went missing three months ago, without a trace.
LAYLA is a mystery consisting of seven chapters, each with a clue to what might have happened to Miss Kamel.
LAYLA stars AUC theater veteran Diana Brauch, along with Marwa Tharwat, Doaa Eriekat, and Tarek Mowaffak. LAYLA also features music by Mohamed Ragab a.k.a MACHINE EAT MAN, who is known for his amazing live shows, including several gigs at the Cairo Jazz Club.
LAYLA is written and co-produced by Ahmed Khalifa, and directed by Khalifa, along with Mohamed Khalifa, Thoraya Selim, and Dina Ali
