shaware3na band (Our Streets), as its name indicates, monitors what is happening in the Egyptian, Arab, and sometimes International Street. They analyze these events and developments as well as the attitudes and reactions of individual and groups. Then, use these as starting points to build upon in their music. The lyrics are an attempt to impact the youth and to shed light on various issues between the political and the individual, and change the manner of dealing with the Arab revolutions and social issues. They explore this by analyzing the social behavior of a particular class and observing their negative aspects and their effects on the society. The band often relies on exploring these issues with sarcasm and in some cases exaggeration, as well as imitating some of these fictional community characters.

The band was founded in Alexandria in 2009 and has performed in more than 30 concerts in collaboration with several cultural centers. This includes the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria, El Sawy Culture Wheel, Goethe Institute in Alexandria, Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center, and other social and educational centers. They have also performed in concerts in Alexandria University and the School of San Gabriel, street art events such as Sayed Darwish Festival in Kom El Dekka, activities celebrating youth such as the Festival of Colors in the Antoniadis Gardens, played in public places such as Washing Machine Festival and the Mall of Arabia and given music performances for some independent theaters. They won first prize in the Festival of Music at the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria after a vote among a seven independent music groups and also won the first place at the “Start With Yourself” music competition, among a mix of young musicians, which gave the band the opportunity to record its first music album.
