The Dress is an absurdist film made by van Warmerdam, one of the Netherlands' most acclaimed film makers. The film's main character is a dress that ends up in different women's hands after which all kinds of strange and unfortunate events happen. Nobody can escape the dress' (and van Warmerdam's) universe. Alex van Warmerdam depicts Dutch life through his own eyes, often portraying the strict protestant worker ethic (as in Emma Blank and his newest film Borgman). We have shown Emma Blank last year during the Dutch Days at the NVIC and we can only repeat what we said then: be prepared to emerge yourself in the director's surreal world to enjoy this masterpiece.

With: Alex van Warmerdam, Ariane Schluter, Henry Garcin and Ricky Koole
