As part of the Spring 2015 anthropology film series Experimental Film in the Arab World, the Anthropology Unit is screening the film Cairo Drive, a documentary that explores the life of one of the world’s most populated cities from its streets. Shot in 2009 to 2012 (before and during the Egyptian revolution, and ending with the 2012 presidential elections), the film explores the country’s collective identity, inherent struggles and the sentiments that lead through the historic changes taking place in Egypt today.

The filmmaker Sherif El Kashta will be present for a discussion of the film.
