ABOUT MUSIC DEBATES CARAVAN INITIATIVE:
In cooperation with the Young Arab Voices, the pioneer region-wide youth debate programme co-managed by the Anna Lindh Foundation and the British Council, DAWRAK is exploring innovative ideas to provide Dialogue Spaces for young debaters and musicians to involve debates and music as a mean to voice the issues that concern them and their communities.

Through the Music Debates Caravan, a year-long action taking place in diverse locations in Egypt and Tunisia, DAWRAK will provide Knowledge and Skills on debating skills, through a series of rap and music debate workshops led by professional musicians and organised in different parts of Egypt and Tunisia. Debating using lyrics and music is a cultural and innovative tool that aims at addressing the issues and concerns of the young citizens using a language and a style that they are familiar with. The outcomes of these workshops will be presented in their communities public local untapped Spaces.

The Music Debates Caravan will organise a series of workshops and performance activities mainly touring four governorates in Egypt and one governorate in Tunisia. The series of workshops in each country will be culminated in a large-scale Music Debate Battle Concert about Citizenship taking place in 2014, focused on social participation and intercultural citizenship preceded by preparatory meetings on innovative tools and urban spaces for participation.
