El Mastaba Center for Egyptian Folk Music invites you to enjoy a night with theEl Waziry Band , Thursday20 October 2016 at El Dammah Theater at 9: 00 pm. 

El Waziry Band (previously El Suhbagiyya Band) was founded with in the city of Ismailiyya in 1994 in cooperation the king of simsimiyya “Mohamed El Waziry”, as he was called among the Canal Zone people. When El Waziry met Zakaria Ibrahim, they dreamt of replicating the experience that flourished in Port Said, by gathering the retired suhbagiyya and presenting a weekly folk music performance in Ismailia. After El Waziry passed away in 2008, the name of the band was changed to El Waziry Band to memorize their leader. In additional to the performance that still takes place every Tuesday in their home city, El Waziry Band has performed to audiences in the cities of Port Said, Suez, Cairo, Alexandria and El Minya.
“Walla Zaman” is the name of the album locally produced by El Mastaba Center in 2006 for the band.
