This book launch event includes a conversation with the contributors of the book, a live music gig, a playlist selected by Sam Shalaby, and cocktails provided by Nile Sunset Annex inspired by the book. Dreams and Music: Hassan Khan is a response to Khan's 2014 survey exhibition curated by Beth Stryker as part of D-CAF and the parallel discursive programme commissioned by AUC_LAB, Footnotes to Hassan Khan, curated by Stryker in collaboration with Kaya Behkalam. Dream and Music: Hassan Khan, edited by Anneka Lenssen, Beth Stryker and Kaya Behkalam, designed by Valerie Arif and was published by Revolver Publishing in Berlin in 2016.

This event is part of Cairo Museum of Contemporary Art (CAMOCA). It is a curatorial project that reflects on the history of contemporary art in Cairo and adopts specific artistic strategies inspired by projects and exhibitions of artists and curators that have worked in the region at least once before, challenging exhibition formats, categories and protocols of museums and other stable art spaces.
