Moroccan Jazz singer Oum was born in Casablanca, and developed her talents for singing and painting while growing up in Marrakech, At age fourteen, the singer's taste for jazz and African music led her to join a gospel choir, where she quickly became one of the soloists. In 2003 she made the decision to focus on singing as her artistic path, and has become known for.blending Jazz with traditional Moroccan music. Oum has toured France and performed in Italy, Canada and Egypt. Her most recent album Soul of Morocco, recorded in Paris, was released in France in April 2013. She has also released two albums in Morocco, Lik'Oum and Sweerty.
