The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the University of East London, the International Islamic University of Malaysia and the Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) are pleased to invite guests to the launch of the Arabic version of the book Land, Law and Islam: Property and Human Rights in the Muslim World by Siraj Sait and Hilary Lim.

Over the years, the Global Land Tool Network has been working on appropriate approaches to increase security of tenure and access to land for the poor, the youth and the women in Muslim communities.

Land professionals, practitioners, policy makers, communities and all other actors involved in land issues have all a role to play in making land access more equitable. Improved knowledge and capacity in Islamic land law and practices will empower them and increase impact on the ground. Land, Law and Islam is a cornerstone of this work.

Under the auspices of the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Arab States, the book and the new ongoing research in this field will be presented by one of the authors. GLTN will also introduce its new competition on good practices to improve security of tenure in the Muslim world.
