Vittoria Capresi and Barbara Pampe will present the book: Discovering Downtown Cairo. Architecture and Stories.

PANEL DISCUSSION: Who is Downtown?
Nairy Avedissian (inhabitant), Hratch Mikaelian (inhabitant / “Readers Corner”), Maryse Helal (inhabitant) and Paul-Anton Krüger (Süddeutsche Zeitung) will tell us their stories explaining their relationships with Downtown. Mohamed el Shahed (Cairobserver) will moderate the evening.

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: WALKING TOURS:
The tangible and intangible Heritage of Downtown Cairo.

There will be three thematic walking tours in Downtown. Vittoria Capresi, Barbara Pampe will show their best-of, introducing some buildings, their stories, and discussing about the tangible and intangible Heritage of Downtown. With a contribution by Omar Nagati (Cluster Cairo).

6:00 pm – 6:40 pm: Cinema Radio:
ONLY FOR THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE TOURS

The three groups will gather at the Cinema Radio to visit the building. Here Eng. Mohamed Hassan will introduce the work of Al-Ismaelia for Real Estate Investments, and present the newly restored Cinema. Coffee and snacks will help us to stay awake for the second part of the day!
