Dr. Eman El Sayed Khalifa is Lecturer at the Egyptology Department of the Cairo University. After graduating in Egyptology from Cairo University she earned both her Masters’ and PhD degrees from Tulane University of Louisiana, New Orleans (USA). Dr. Khalifa earned grants and awards, such as the Ibrahim Rizkana award, Fulbright Scholarship, Erasmus Mundus and others.
In her lecture she will present the results obtained from residue-analysis applied to sherds from the predynastic site of Hierakonpolis in Upper Egypt which can be used to reconstruct the diet of its predynastic residents. Furthermore, they provide further insights into long-debated topics concerning the production process of the black-topped pottery.
