Founded in Cairo in 1999, Wust El Balad was one of Egypt’s first independent bands to succeed in providing a new type of contemporary music and has become one of the most popular bands in the Arab world. Their musical style blends elements of traditional Arabic music with a modern and western twist. Wust El Balad has released two albums, a self titled album in 2008 and Robabekya in 2011.
