Come and do nothing but read! The NVIC Library will be hosting the *seventh* get-together of the Silent Book Club • Cairo Chapter.
The premise for this book club is simple. It’s a gathering of people who go out to a public space for the purpose of reading together. Unlike traditional book clubs, there are no mandatory reading selections, and nobody facilitates a discussion.
There are now more than 40 Silent Book Club chapters around the world, from San Francisco to Kuala Lumpur. Some chapters meet in libraries, markets, and bookstores. Others gather in coffeeshops, cafés, and restaurants.
There are no specific rules, but the plan is the following:
4:00 - 4:30 pm: optional socialising with time to share what you are reading and swap book recommendations
4:30 - 6 pm: quiet reading (or listening for audiobook fans)
