The “Raise Your Voice” initiative presents its first “Movie Night”.
“Raise your Voice” is a workshop training young Egyptian women to become documentary filmmakers and video journalists, and equipping them with the skills they need to artistically express their views on the society they live in.
Our focus is issue of sexual harassment in Egypt, which we explore and analyse through the medium of film.
Following 4 months of intense training, shooting and editing, our girls have prepared 4 short documentaries dealing with gender issues, specifically harassment.
After the screening, you are invited to learn more about the “Raise Your Voice” initiative, and discuss with us your thoughts about the documentary films.
The event will take place in Tahrir Lounge on the evening of the 4th June- 6 pm
