Heba Yossry – Egypt – 2012

 

Settou Zad is a very personal documentary about the famous Egyptian singer Sheherazade, made by her granddaughter Heba Yossry. Sheherazade dedicated her entire life and energy to the art of singing. In a series of reveiling interviews with her grandmother, the director gives us an insight in the world of Settou Zad, her stardom, her passion and her history. Interwoven with original recordings, family albums and old footage ‘Settou Zad’ is a unique document made with a lot of love, that captures a most interesting personal history.
