In this talk, Lara Ayad will weave together her research with the notion of nostalgia, avant-garde, and gender roles, focusing on the politics and implications of representation.
Lara Ayad is an art history PhD candidate at Boston University. In her research she focuses on avant-garde painting and sculpture made between the mid-1930s through the early 1970s and the proliferation of images of women in these works.
