A Lecture on Ecocitizen World Map Project, Imbaba & Zamalek
This project aims to study the Urban Metabolism and calculate the resource flows in Cairo (including water, energy, materials and mobility) through conducting sample audits in typical neighbourhoods both informal (Imbaba district) and formal (Zamalek). It encourages residents to participate in data gathering with the help of the team and local Community Based Organizations CBOs. It uses new concepts of crowdsourcing and crowd mapping with an ambitious goal to help communities become more resource efficient and create tailored solutions for their contexts.

Prof. Dr. Heba Allah Essam El-Din Khalil, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University has an academic and professional experience of 15 years. She has pursued scientific research in community development, informal areas, sustainable urbanism, affordable housing, quality of life, strategic planning& urban metabolism with a book titled: Energy Efficiency in the Urban Environment. 
She is currently participating in joint research projects as both a team member & principle investigator between Cairo University & other International research institutes as IRD, France, TU Berlin, GLOBUS at Berlin Freie University, Germany and Ecocity Builders NGO, &UC Berkeley, USA and Mundiapolis University, Morocco.
She has also worked both as an architect &as urban planner with international agencies as GIZ, UN-HABITAT, the League of Arab States, national authorities&local NGOs & CBOs.
