Townhouse invites you to the launch of the new issue of Fabrikzeitung, an experimental magazine from Zürich featuring current Pro Helvetia artist-in-residence Noha Mokhtar.
Fabrikzeitung editor Gregor Huber will be joining us for the event.
About the project:
“When Will You Make Us Happy?”
This issue of Fabrikzeitung features an excerpt of an on-going book project by Sahar Suliman and Noha Mokhtar, which explores parallels between the functionality and structure of the Egyptian family and that of the state. Based on a growing collection of interviews conducted in Cairo in April 2015, four characters emerge out of the space that separates documentary and fiction.
About the artist:
Noha Mokhtar is a Swiss visual artist, who lives and works in Zürich. She studies Social Anthropology and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Bern. She is currently a resident artist in Cairo with Pro Helvetia.
Iftar will be served.
Open to all.
Address: 10, Nabrawy street off Champolion, Tal'at Harb, downtown, third floor.
