As if We Were Catching a Cobra
Arabic, with English subtitles — 122 min
By questioning Egyptian and Syrian cartoonists about their experiences before and after major historic movements against despotism, As if We Were Catching a Cobra attempts to gauge the newfound freedom of expression found, and openly wondering how it can be guaranteed in the future. The Syrian writer and journalist Samar Yazbek provides us with her insight and impressions from Damascus in the months preceding the Syrian revolution up until her exile in France five months later.
