DJing workshop level 1:

This course intends to provide insight on the basics of DJing for beginners but also for more seasoned DJs looking to strengthen their basic skills to take their performance to the next level.
Mainly built around hands-on teaching and practice, this workshop aims to introduce to the DJ tools and the basic techniques to start mixing with a solid background.
Course will be organised around 5 sessions including both theory and practice. Sessions will introduce to DJ equipment (hardware and software), music preparation, set management along with various mixing methods.

In order to introduce participants to hardware and software, the practical training will be performed on a professional grade controller, the Pioneer DDJ SX running on Serato. However participants will also be introduced to the most common hardware and software / apps on the market. Participants can also bring their own equipment for a more personalised practice.

Hicham Ezzat:
With 15 years of experience including 6 years of residency in clubs in France, Hicham learned the hard way, starting from mixing on tape cassettes to vynils, CDs and software. He is currently a freelance DJ and event organiser within the CCO (https://www.facebook.com/CollectifCaireObscur). He brought to Cairo the Francophony event at Shehrazade last spring and the ongoing "Paris-Kasr El Nil" series at Vent where he displays his skills of crowd management and mixing very different styles in the same sets.
