A fundamental knowledge of darkroom processes still proves essential to a comprehensive understanding of photography. This course is designed to enable students to work independently in a black & white darkroom. It explores analogue photography and covers all aspects of black & white darkroom techniques from film processing to printing, enlarging and toning. Through the course, participants become acquainted with the functions and purposes of darkroom equipment and experience all its procedures. 

About the instructor: 
Mohamed ElMaymouny lives and works in Cairo since 1998. As a photographer he participated in local and international exhibitions. Alongside his job at CIC ElMaymouny works as a photojournalist for local Egyptian newspapers. He mainly developed his skills through direct interaction and collaboration with other photographers. ElMaymouny is specialized in working with large format film and alternative photography techniques.
