EUNIC, the network of national cultural institutes of the European Union, following its policy of cooperation and artistic and cultural diffusion in Egypt, promotes "ARTS TALK": a yearly series of meetings devoted to cultural activity in its various aspects

This year the panel entitled "SPACES" scrutinizes the space in relation to artistic activity

The Italian Cultural Institute, the French Institute of Egypt and the Goethe-Institut organize "THE USE OF SPACE", a roundtable on the use of public and private spaces animated by creators and managers for public policy

The event will be held at the Goethe-Institut in Downtown Cairo on March 9th at 7 pm The roundtable brings together French, Italian and Egyptian specialists at the Goethe Institute

Keynote speakers are: 
- HENRI-PIERRE JEUDY, sociologist at the CNRS, writer, and author of numerous books on heritage and its conservation, on the social uses of art, and on the body and its stereotypes. His just-released book “La farandole des illusions” completes his work on the relationship between art and public space

- FRANC LAMY, curator, responsible for temporary exhibitions at MACVAL, Musée d'Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne

- MARCO SCOTINI, curator, art director of FM (Frigoriferi Milanesi) Contemporary Art Center, and head of visual arts sector NABA Milano (New Academy of Fine Arts) in Milan

- BRUNO COOREN, Director of Culture and International Relations of the City of Dunkerque. Head of International Relations at the Dunkerque Urban Community and the City of Lille. His interests and focus include the intersections between cultural development and transnational opening for sustainable cultural development

- HANY RASHED, Cairo-based Egyptian artist

- AMMAR ABO BAKR, Cairo-based Egyptian artist

- ANNA-KATHARINA SCHEIDEGGER, artist born in Switzerland, she lives and works in Paris and Bern. Her media are photography, film and video

- STEFANIA ANGARANO is a Cairo-based Italian curator and the director of Mashrabia Gallery of Contemporary Art. In cooperation with Baad El Bahr for Cultural Development she is currently curating the project "From Rags to Riches", devoted to public art made by recycled materials
