This course is designed to provide students with general knowledge of alternative printing methods, how to utilize them in our current age and how to combine digital photography and manual printing techniques. It also includes a brief introduction to the water camera technique. Through this process students learn how to use black and white sensitive paper as an affordable, available and easily processed negative that can be copied to produce a positive image through the built in lab inside of the water camera. In the course students will have the opportunity to work with large format cameras (18 x 13 cm or larger). 

About the instructor: 
Mohamed ElMaymouny lives and works in Cairo since 1998. As a photographer he participated in local and international exhibitions. Alongside his job at CIC ElMaymouny works as a photojournalist for local Egyptian newspapers. He mainly developed his skills through direct interaction and collaboration with other photographers. ElMaymouny is specialized in working with large format film and alternative photography techniques.
