The bottom line of this talk will basically revolve around the collections of the pioneer architects: Hassan Fathy, Ramses Wissa Wassef, Sayed Karim, and Gamal Bakry. How these collections made their way to our holding at the RBSCL-AUC, and how we have promoted and preserved them for your own intellectual and professional benefit.
It will touch in deep manner the benefit of those interested, either in academic research, studying architecture, and/or practical work related to the profession of an architect.
The topic will also discuss the steps and pains that an institution has to face in order to keep these collections active and alive in front of the public, and the high costs in equipment and manpower required to undertake this task.
It will also discuss the steps to be aware of in order to preserve your own architectural work for posterity in hard and soft format.
